Pink Friday: Pink Birthday Cards

These are the birthday cards I received last year for my birthday; aren't they cute? My favorite was the one with Piglet and Pooh given by my son who've picked it up himself :-). The others were from my parents in-law, friends and family.

Modern Bar Stools In Our Kitchen

Every time I visit a friend's house, I couldn't help but admire the furniture they have in their living room and in the formal dining area. Their Mom must have spent a lot of money on those furniture for they look expensive and elegant. The only thing that got me into thinking is that, why did she buy modern bar stools in the kitchen area? What really, bothers me is that the bar stools didn't match or coordinated with their kitchen furniture. Don't get me wrong, but I love modern furniture and since we plan on transforming our kitchen counter tops into an island someday, hubby and I will definitely purchased modern bar stools to match the kitchen cabinets and stuffs in our kitchen. I am so excited already though we still need to save for that big project of ours. The picture of a bar stool above is what I like the most!

CC: So In Love!

I fell in love with Matt even more as soon as I heard his soft, gentle and kind voice for the first time over the phone. I felt that I have found my soul-mate so to speak my eternal love. I see hearts everywhere I go and wherever I look. I couldn't stop smiling, excitedly waiting for his emails everyday and phone calls once a week. It's been 9 years, but the feeling is still the same. I know the feeling is mutual because when I sing a love song in front of him, he smiles and his face turns into pink! I never had the chance of hugging and kissing him a lot on his cheeks when we were dating online, but now I have all the time to do that and he loves it! I am so in love with him that even though he is home all day, I still miss him; he thinks I am crazy for missing him that much, lol. Yup, I am crazy in love with him!

Texas Weather

Who would have thought that I am going to wear this sandal during winter time! Yes, I wore this for the first yesterday because the weather was too nice! Texas weather is very confusing, really! I tell you, even my bulbs are confused! They are already up even thought spring is not here yet. Then, all of a sudden..snow came...they all died, wahhhh :-(.

Anyway, I am so ready for spring, even summer. The cold season made us all sick! Don't get me wrong, I like winter...but it is too cold for me. I feel wasted every time because all I want to do is stay home....and be lazy! I need to go out more often and be productive...it isn't good for me and my health to stay home all the time....not to mention "cabin fever". What about you? Are you ready for the spring and summer?

Strong Determination is The Key!

A friend of mine was so concern about her weight. I was wondering why? She is not even overweight! One time she mentioned to me that she was kind of looking for slimming tablets she can take to speed up weight loss process. If she is really serious about taking slimming pills, she would lose weight dramatically for she also on diet and rigorous exercise everyday. No doubt about it, she would reach her goals even faster that she thought it would be. I wished I had a strong determination like her when it comes to weight loss goals.

Top Diet Pill

Exactly a week ago, hubby came home from work not feeling better. He had a slight fever and was coughing. I wasn't worried about it for I thought it will go away after some rest. But as the days go by, his cough is getting worst and he started complaining about his throat. And so he bought cough medicines and started taking it. His coughing stopped for a little while and felt much better afterward; I was so glad he was able to sleep. To our dismay, his fever got worst. His body temperature was very high! He said he has never been sick like this before. We really don't know what was going on with him. Could it be a strep throat? Flu or infection caused by his boil? Not sure what it was and what to do, I did some research on boil and its symptoms as well as the flu and strep throat. And as I go through the webmd's site, I couldn't help but see those advertisements regarding diet pills. Out of curiosity, I started reading reviews and learned that adapexin one of the top diet pills on the market today. If that is the case, could it be the diet pill hubby and I have been looking for? Though I've read many positive testimonies from its consumers, I am still not yet fully convinced till we tried it ourselves.

The Need to Lose Weight

I used to be skinny when I was single. I can eat whatever I want without any worries of gaining weight till I got married. Hubby and I ate out a lot during the first year of our marriage; the result....we gained a lot of weight! Good thing it was very easy for me to control my appetites and do some exercise. But when my kidneys stopped working I was on dialysis for eight months before I finally get a renal transplant. After the transplant, I have to take many medications to avoid rejection. One of the immunosuppressants I am taking is steroid. Taking steroid makes me eat more than I should, and because of that I gained weight again. I never thought that I would look for Diet pills appetite suppressants! I really need to lose weight so I can avoid any complications associated with being overweight. My doctor told me that I needed to go back to my ideal weight, therefore I need to shed at least twenty pounds. I really think it is possible for me to get my body back to its ideal size.

Reliable Printer

Last Sunday when I asked hubby to print some stuffs I needed for my Sunday school class, our computer started acting up. It wouldn't do its job! Hubby had to fix it before he can print the materials I needed. We didn't know what else to do. Good thing hubby didn't give up easily otherwise I would end up going to the library where I would need to stand in line for at least 15 minutes or so just to have copies of the things I needed. Anyway, I think that our printer needs an update, but hubby keeps telling me that the printer is still working and that it just needs ink. He better be right or we have no choice but to buy a new one. If that happens then we need to get one of brother printers for I read that they make good printer as well as printer accessories. I am so tired spending a lot of money for something that is of no worth. We need a reliable printer that does its job and lasts longer.

He is Busy, I am Busy!

Every Tuesday my son gets to pick a couple of books of his choice at his school library. And every time I check on his backpack I notice that he always choose a book that will help him draw something he likes; for instance a book about airplanes, cars, and boats. He is now at the stage where he is interested on drawing and boy, I tell you he can draw well! Hubby and I are so impress with his talents, that is why we always encourage and support him with what he wants to do as long as it will help him develop his talents. I like that everyday after school instead of watching tv, he would make himself busy drawing, and then reading when he gets tired drawing. He is such a busy little guy! and while he is busy doing his thing I am also busy in front of my computer looking for diet pills that work for my husband. Yup, hubby is very desperate to lose weight at this point in time, and so he would try every possible way wherein he could lose weight fast. His goal is to lose at least 50 pounds before our trip to the Philippines this year. And as his wife, I will support and help him achieve that goal!

Eat Without Feeling Guilty

This morning while at grocery store, I ran into a friend who works there. She was the one who noticed me first since I was very busy looking around. It's been awhile since we last talked to each other. We didn't talk that long because she was still working, but before we ended our conversation, she mentioned to me the baby shower for our mutual friend tomorrow afternoon; I was aware of the event but wasn't invited, so when she asked me if I will be attending, I immediately say 'no' for nobody invited us. She said that every Filipinos are welcome to attend; that is so nice of them if it is true. We'll honestly, I am not that close to that person, so there is no way I will attend the baby shower for her. Would you? Anyway, I am pretty sure many of my friends will be there and I will be missing the fun and foods as well. There will be lots of foods! Good thing I will not be there for I would probably forget that I am on diet; but then again I remember that I can still eat and then take weight loss supplements afterward, that way I can eat whatever I want without having to feel guilty afterward. Oh well, I am sure there will be more parties I can attend in the near future :-); and that's the fun of having more friends!

Pink Friday: My Pink Hats

These pink hats are my favorites. Bought the one on the rightt when we were at Virginia beach, VA back in 2008. I wore it to protect my eyes and face from sunlight. Being a renal transplant recipient, I was advised by my doctor to really take good care of my skin for I am more prone to skin cancer that those who aren't.

CC: Our First Kiss

The very first time Matt kissed me (on my forehead) was at the airport when we (my cousin and I) picked him up after his flight from US to meet me in person for the first time after exchanging emails for six months. He stayed at my Aunt's house for a week before we finally have our first kiss...then left the next day. We both didn't know how to kiss yet, lol and so we didn't know what to do :-). Matt courted some girls before but none of them became his gf, and so, I was his first and last GF...and that explained why he didn't know how to kiss a woman that time. After being married for almost 10 years...we know now how to, lol!

Edema Needs Treatment

Health is very important in my house. My kidney started to fail back 2003 and totally stopped working when my son was only a little over a year old. It was hard for me and my hubby to deal at my health problem on top of caring with our little one, and a demanding job. Somehow we managed to survived and after eight month on dialysis, I received a renal transplant. We owe it to God who is always there for us , and to the generous donor. I have given a second life and was very grateful for that! Okay, that was I. Now, let's talk about hubby's legs and feet problem. I am so worried about him for he has the edema for many years now and we didn't know what to do. Then, two months ago when we spoke to his sister who happened to be a nurse told us that he needs to use a special stocking. This kind of stocking is called compression stocking that can be purchased at compression stockings online. This medical product can be expensive but will really help with your legs and feet problem like edema and other.

PF: My Pink Laptop

I have been meaning to update my two year old laptop into a new one. I just couldn't decide what brand and color to get on top of features I want/need. So when I saw the HP notebook (picture below), I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It has all the features I needed. I couldn't wait anymore..and so the next day, I bugged hubby to take me to the store. He wanted to get me a Toshiba (refurbished) he saw at Micro center but I insisted since it would be mine, and I would be the one paying for it. He was hesitant at first but agreed with me later on. While he was helping me with the setting up and all, he was finally convinced that I chose the right brand of computer. I so love this laptop. I didn't purchase the mouse for I don't really need it. The sleeve is much cheaper online and so I ordered it there instead. Anyway, this is my entry for Pink Friday this week :-).

CC: I Love You

Matt and I didn't say "I Love You" to each other till we meet in person, but despite of that...we knew and felt our love toward each other even before we met. Our emails and phone calls can testify/attest to that. Yup, we still have copies of those emails we sent to each other and every time we read them together we still giggle and fall in love all over again. It's been 9 years now...yet we still say "i love you's" every single day...and never get tired of saying and hearing it :-)!

How about you? You still remember the first time he/she said 'i love you' to you? Share it with us by clicking the button on the right side of this blog. See you there!

Saving for DSLR Camera

Trying to be frugal can be hard sometimes. The more you spend less the more you spend more...at least in our case. For the last 8 years, hubby and I find ourselves spending more on electronic stuffs particularly when it comes to digital camera. We both want to preserve every thing that pertains with our son. We took pictures of him and us together as much as we could for we know that we can never turn back our time. Anyway, if there is one major purchase we need that would be a dslr camera that is why we are keeping an eye for slr cameras that are affordable and at the same time have the features we want. The other day while we were looking for a laptop, I saw a SLR camera and fell in love with it. he only problem is that, I already spent my money for a new laptop. Now, it is time to save for a slr camera that I can take for our summer vacation this June.

Showing Off My Fave Purse!

One of my few wish is to own a coach purse. I am so happy that hubby fulfilled that wish when he bought me this beautiful coach purse. I love it. Had I waited till I save money for it, I wouldn't have it right now! Hubby is happy because I am happy....he still teases me though every once in awhile as to why I want such an expensive purse. To him, purse is a purse....expensive or not lol!

Thanks again Honey for this awesome gift you gave me aside from two sets of perfumes :-); you are so sweet and thoughtful and I so love you!

CC: Sweet Moment

As I wrote before, Matt and I met through internet. But unlike other couples who also met online, Matt and I only wrote emails, and never chatted at all. We've been exchanging emails for three month before he decided to talk with me over the phone. And when he asked for my phone number, I giggled and even more when I finally heard his soft kind voice. Who wouldn't giggle? I can feel his sincerity through his voice...so you can't blame me why I fell for him just by hearing his voice. Anyway, aside from everyday emails from each other; Matt also phones me every Sunday. He never let me call him because he doesn't want me to get phone bills. He's so sweet and thoughtful and that is why I love him. Anyway, I still giggle every time I reminisce those days.

How about you? Share your special moments with us by clicking the button above; thanks Liz for hosting this meme :-).

Compromise is a Key

I used to think that when you are looking for someone to spend your life with, you must be compatible with him or her. But I was wrong. As the saying goes, "birds on the same feather flacks together" doesn't work in a relationship sometimes. To some life would be boring. Now, the "opposite attracts" works for me and my husband for we complements each other...as well as we are learning from each others differences. Hubby and I came to appreciate each other more and more each day. One of the thing we are not compatible with is the part of decorating our house. When it comes to art prints,he likes photography better than abstract. I love abstract so much and he could care less. But I tell you, this type of thing doesn't bother us as much for we learn to compromise...which is one of the keys for the marriage/relationship to work.
